Philippines Mission

Hey guys! As you can tell, God is doing some HUGE things with The Emslie Family! Just as He works with us as a family, God is also working on us as individuals! This June I will be flying from Australia to meet a team from my hometown, River Point Community Church, in Manila where we sill stay overnight and then travel to Negros Islands.

What?

New Creation Ministries is a mission hat River Point Community Church supports. This ministry supports the work of 5 local pastors on Negros Island in the Philippines. The primary mission is for young American believers to share their faith in school assemblies all over Negros Island. The message is typically wrapped in a “Just Say No to Drugs” platform that is supported by worship music, a sports clinic, and whatever else the Lord may provide to help advance His message. Because of a love for American culture and true hunger for the gospel, this mission effort usually yields literally thousands of decisions for Christ. We will also work with the local churches in their ministries and feeding programs to the impoverished and hungry individuals in the rural regions of Negros Island.

Why?

The Philippines provides a unique environment to share the gospel of Jesus Christ during this time in history. The people of the Philippines love and appreciate American visitors because of our assistance to them in the past. They are fond of our American culture. The religious background of the Philippines is primarily a very nominal Catholicism. Mist Filipinos have heard something about Jesus and the Bible but have never made the relationship with Christ a personal one. When given the opportunity, young Filipinos are very hungry to receive the gospel and follow Christ. No on knows how long this special open door will stay open. But as long as the Spirit of God holds it open, we believe we should make Christ known to these beautiful people!

- Pray that God prepares the hearts of the children and adults we will come into contact with while we are there!
